Week Thirty-Eight: Hydropole

hydropole (37/52)

Week Thirty-Eight: September 17th- 23rd, 2010

It was 11pm on Thursday- the night of my weekly deadline for the project- that I realized I didn't have a shot to publish yet this week. Considering I had a fever and an hour, I'm really happy with how this turned out.

Week Thirty-Seven: The Crestliner

the crestliner

Week Thirty-Seven: September 10th- 16th, 2010

Our neighbors at the lake have this older boat- I would say from the 1960's judging by some of the logos on the trailer it sits on (I might upload one or two some time down the road). I've always meant to use it for this project somehow because it looks so cool, but I felt kind of strange just walking up to their boat and taking pictures. They haven't been at the lake a lot this year, and last weekend was my last time out there until next Spring so it was now or never. They weren't out anyway.

Half of the logo on this side of the boat is worn off- I'm trying to upload the logo from the other side so you can what it looks like in it's entirety.

Week Thirty-Six: Statuesque... but actually a statue

statuesque... but actually a statue

Week Thirty-Six: September 3rd- 9th, 2010

Statue of a deer, part of my mom's favourite lamp in her living room. Of course, the harsh light coming from behind the lampshade made it difficult to get the dynamic range right- the antlers are far more exposed than the rest of the deer.

I'm behind on uploading again. This is the shot from two weeks ago- I'll upload week 37's photo in a couple of days.

EXIF:
Camera: Nikon D40X
Exposure: 0.077 seconds (1/13)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 92 mm

Week Thirty-Five: Bug Trails

Moth Trails (34/52)

Week Thirty-Five: August 27th- September 2nd, 2010

Not perfect and definitely bit more processing than I've been doing with this project, I basically desaturated the yellow tones because the leave on the trees, reflecting the light from the lamp, overpowered the light trails left from the months. They leaves were unavoidable because if I shifted my camera to the left or right even a little bit, the light from the lamp blew out the entire exposure.

Fun experiment though- if the bugs don't die with the fall weather too soon, I will try this type of thing again yet this year.
